Winter made a visit the start of the week and doing everything possible, well almost everything, to make sure it feels welcome and stays around. Possible storm this weekend might or might not leave more white. Sunday morning will bear.
The dustings off and on Mon, Tues and Wed were enough to get the skis out and do some skiing. Also a little roll packing which is always super exciting for me. The main intent was to pack out Suicide Hill as it has the best coverage, as usual.
Night ski with Jake in fresh snow.
Skiing with Jens at dusk on Suicide. For just a few inches of snow, pretty nice skiing and a good fix until it comes for real.
The lake froze over yesterday morning with temps in the single digits. But opened up again in the middle of the lake, last night, from wind. Ideally it makes some good ice before the snow lands on it. Past couple years we have had some great lake skating and always a special treat when that happens.
When Jonell and Jake were visiting MSU, they picked up a indo board in Bozeman. The boys have been putting it to good use. Jack practicing above. Made a comment to Jens last night skiing how he was doing a good job keeping upright skiing at dark on thin snow, he said it was from the indo board practice.
