Perham Invite

Last week both Jens and Jack ran in the Perham Invite cc meet. Jens decided he wanted to run cc after watching Jack at the Frazee extreme meet so he ran a few practices.

 The Perham meet was huge. 25 total teams, nearly 400 kids in varsity alone I think someone said. Perham takes cc seriously. The boys team has won state numerous times the last 10 years and National champs last year. Impressive up to date website with results which is great for keeping parents, family and friends informed.  Overall Perham is doing an incredible job with their extracurricular programs. They have become a big rival with DL which 15 years ago people would of just laughed at.

 The course was pretty flat with the key feature being a couple rollers near the finish. From a distance it looked like a nice gap jump.

The teams ranged as far north as Roseau, south as Willmar, east as Little Falls and west as Fargo North. Good to see Fargo North and family friend Ben Wenzel at the meet.

Post race meal with the boys at the new Brew pub. West and East wind welcomed in Perham with the Tuffy dog food factory is right downtown and the water treatment plant south of town. If you have been downtown, you know what I am talking about!
