First Ski

Last Friday we had an unexpected prairie clipper roll through, dropping a couple inches of dry snow. Jake was home for the weekend and we ventured out with a few flakes still lingering and moonlight refracting through the cloudy ceiling. The glide and skiing was much better than expected and a gorgeous night in the woods.

Saturday Jake got back out than Sunday able to sneak in another ski after everything had crusted over the night before. Pretty slim pickings but can't turn down the opportunity for a early season ski!
Always good having Jake home. He will be heading to Canmore/Banff/Lake Louise in Alberta Canada for a ski camp with the St Scholastica ski team. The team has a strong roster and he worked hard to make the Canmore selection.
The lake froze over on Tuesday after temps in single digits. It was just thick enough to walk on the edges. Hudson was smart enough to not venture out to far.
Didn't get out much for deer hunting this year. Jens and I spent most of one day hiking through the woods, sitting and basically tracking deer. We walked the better part of 6 miles, only seeing a few deer but just nice to be in the woods.
