Jumping Johnnie!!
Yesterday I skied with some of the St. Johns nords. It was fun. Last week some of the hs teams that were here built a little kicker on the skate loop so we had some fun on that. The past two days I have skied more then the previous ten days. Thats alright. I have learned you don' want to push it when you are under a lot of load like I was last week. As I expected, I got some gunk right at the end of last week, (which is the busiest week of the year) NewYears eve was crazy. I was up at 3am to groom, stayed up until 2am for New Years then was up at 5am to groom the next morning. Today I finally feel recharged. I was feeling real good so I decided I would do some intensity. I did the loop we did for the first hs camp at race pace and I was just flying. In fact I did the lap 25 seconds faster then the one MPLS SW skier and almost a minute faster then Benn Popp so I feel good about that. I hooked up with Jake and we skied for about 45 minutes. Jake is doing awesome right now and I am in seventh heaven about that just to ski with him.. He was third in the jr. high race on Tues. The top 6 were 8th graders except for him and he is only in 6th. He skied with Zigs a bunch of times over break so that was good. I think he skied almost 120ks over break. Tonight I skated with Jon on the rink. Jon needs to work on his stopping but he goes 100% all the time. Some grooming this morning, ideal temps.....today has been the best winter day so far. The only bummer is Jack who has strep and hopefully he comes clean and the other kids as well. So far so so good. I ordered Jonell some of the new Fischer Visions that have the pink theme. They should be cool. I also got the two pair of jib skates mounted so tomorrow maybe Jake and I will do some tricks. Jake is going to Messabi for the big meet (to watch)and is going to bring them. Sorry for the long delay if you have been checking this site. Hopefully I can be more regular now that we are more in a routine. Cheers!!
