Jake catching some air for one last time today. After lunch he was on skis and later afternoon on the bike! The kids were in the bmx track having fun back there. I was going to ride over to Jonell's parents cabins and meet them there but I got hit with some bug last night so holding off on riding until I come out of it. It was fun to hang with the kids in the track. I can't believe how much things have dried up in a week but if you think about it we haven't had any moisture to speak of in 6 weeks. Early yesterday morning I rode a lap plus of the expert loop after a hard freeze and it was a blast. Lots of birds out and no wind, it was just about perfect. I felt really good so I thought i was on the tail end of this gunk but I guess not. If I feel okay I might try to ride up Detroit Mountain a few times tomorrow. Tuesday night we are heading out to Big Sky so that should be fun.

Sea Otter looks like it would of been fun this year. I love riding in the mud and I never seem to hit a national when it is muddy. Reading some of the blogs out there, a lot of guys hurt themselves mentally when they get freaked out by the mud. When I line up at the start of a mud race locally, after 15 years of racing, I know who is going deal with it and who will probably drop out. I read that Cole House was riding on a river this winter. Nice. Good bike handling. You gotta mix it up if you are racing mountain bikes otherwise they become a foreign object and when the conditions get dicey, things can fall apart quick. Maybe a pic from the top of DM tomorrow!!
