Photo by Bruce. Wow, what a day. Some serious driving. First off yesterday was full plate trying to tie up loose ends and get as much done as I could for the wedding going on at the lodge this weekend, setting up dance floor chairs all that fun stuff. Started the day at 6am with a ride and got the bonfire going 9-10pm and hit the sack at midnight. Up at 6am this morning and on the road by 7am. I dropped the three youngest off at Jonell's sister so that was nice. They got to play with their cousins and Jake didn't have to worry about Jens. We drove straight home. Last half hour the kids were going crazy. Yikes!! The course was about what I expected. I had the most fun I guess on the last two laps, riding and shooting the breeze with Eric Oftedal. I was with the train of Sam O and McFadden after the second or third lap but I got off the back and never got back on. I should of pushed it more but I felt I was going over and didn't have the motivation to go real deep this time of year. Good training race and just pacing things out to be cranking June,July and August. After doing all that climbing while on vacation, ready for a race to grind out some climbs. Anyways, Harmon was a great course for Citizen and new riders. I looked at the results for kids comp and some pretty good numbers so good to see that. Where where the Experts though? Comp class was nice sized. Some experts dropping down there? A strong field for sure but usually the first race has over 50 it seems and today there were 37 I think. Jake had a great race and he was really excited. Its going to be tough to keep the reins on him but I keep telling him just to have fun and don't get to serious about it. I built a new jump last week when I was doing some bobcat work and will try to make a few more with all the dirt stockpiled over there so the kids can goof around on that. This week is going to be tough to get much riding in but at least I won't get overtrained. We are doing this real interesting conference on Mon and Tues on Wild Foods. Dandelion coffe and beaver stew on Tues to name a few!! Should be interesting.

Good luck to you Marc. Keep the first two weekends in May 2007 on your radar. Might have a UCI race up here on one of them and will pay U23 riders according to UCI schedule.
