Some serious mowing the past few days. I put all mowing on hold during the Wild Foods deal as they wanted dandlions. How nice is that? Except things got real stacked up during the week. Jon wants to mow which is great so I got him going the other day. I told him with all the lawn to mow he could buy a new bmx'er by summers end. Yep, summer started today for the boys. Last day of school. With as busy as the week was, I managed to get some short and sweet riding in and a long grind yesterday. Wed. I made the first Rollag ride of the year (a 35 mile fast pace road ride with with the Fargo Moorhead riders) and tried to be at the front and ride hard on all the hills. I don't get caught up on the tactics of it all and just try to get a good workout. The last sprint into Rollag is a nice hill and I try to get in the right spot to make an attack at the end. Pat L was making some nice pulls and was always telling me to jump back on after I was at the front. I was able to make a nice attack up the hill and felt great. Yesterday the lodge group left early so I bolted late afternoon and rode to Downer from Maplelag. I hit some roads I haven't ridden before. Some nice rollers on the edge of the old Lake Agazziz. 30 miles into the wind and 30 miles ripping tail. Fun. Jonell picked me up and we went on a date in Fargo. Zigs watched the kids or I should say the kids were amped and crazy and he did his best to keep things in control. Today I somehow managed to sneak a hour ride in. I had to pick up 300 chairs for the wedding this weekend. Kids had awards program today so I timed it to sneak 6 hill repeats at Detroit Mountain. On one of the times down I ran into Zigs who was heading to a mow job. We were both surprised. I didn't really get to cool down much so when I went into the gym for the program, Jonell was laughing at me thinking I was all sweaty from loading the chairs. When I told her I had been riding she said "you're taking Jens home" That was fine, rest of the day was spent mowing. Have a nice Holiday weekend. I hope someone from the states goes to Sandilands to enjoy the great course up there. Posted by Picasa
