A good day in Mankato today. When I woke up this morning I felt great and new it would be a fine day of racing. I woke up early and lay in bed for 2 hours itching to get going with the day. After turning on a wrong road last night, we finally made it to Mankato and I didn't feel like hitting the sack right away so I walked to the nearest c store and bought a box of Wheaties and ate half a box.
Jake was gunning for Baker today but Baker had the best of em of all and took the win. He hasn't turn 13 yet. Think the kid bikes fast, you should see him on skis. Anyways, Jake was happy with his race. He is thinking of racing sport the last three races so we will see. Zigs had a nice race coming in 7th and good to see him get the result he has been looking for. He has been training hard, mainly gearing up for the ski season. I thought the weather was just about perfect today. After swinging the pulaski in the woods with no wind and sweating buckets this past week, today was comfy. I thought the first lap was a bit slow (compared to Hamdon when I had no form and was hurting the whole race) so I jumped to the front with Brendan Moore and we rode away from the group. I got a small gap at the end of the 1st lap but Brendan chased it down. ON the fourth lap he attacked and I couldn't respond. David Meyer was chasing hard and I thought Brian Narum would be coming around since he always finishes strong so I gave it everything I had to hold on to second. After the hard week in between Du Lac and today, I thought I knocked out some of the high end but was able to ride steady and strong and feel my form is just about there. Looking forward to Memorial. One of my fav courses and hopefully can be up at the front. Jonell is staying the night at the cabin again. When I talked to her, she said they had the furnace on this morning at the cabin because it was chilly. Crazy. When we got home tonight it was 25 degrees cooler than when we left. Anyways, the cat is sleeping outside tonight.

Tomorrow we should finish the second new section of singletrack and Mikojai, student from Poland, probably won't be happy to hear that we have one more section to cut. He is more of a inside computer guy but he is working hard and doing a good job. (nice elbow to elbow racing across the board at the start)
