Talk about a wet and cold weekend. Friday Jonell picked the boys up after school and I was going to ride towards Fargo and meet them at 32 and 10 where we used to meet for the Rollag ride but the wind was crazy east so I called Jonell on the cell and she said she would just meet me on 26 so I could haul with the east wind. The first hour was fine, some light rain/drizzle and I kept fairly warm but once i hit Hitterdal, the skies opened up big time and I got soaked. The bank thermo in Hiterdal said 34. Cold, wet rain. The last hour was a suffer fest. I couldn't help but think about Paul H and the gang sweating bullets in AZ. Managed about 45 miles and Jonell picked me up about 10 miles outside of Moorhead. Jake had to put the bike inside because I was so cold and stiff. Jonell was laughing at me when she came up to me as I was sitting up with my hands tucked under my pits and hunched over dazed and confused. Made the rounds at the bike shops and picked up Jack a new ride at Paramount. He calls it the golden eagle. He was so excited that night he ate half a box of rice crispies and didn't go to bed til 1am. Up at 7am and he was hoping to ride outside but instead it rained. It rained the rest of the weekend until the rain turned to snow around noon on Sunday. It snowed maybe 4" with 2" sticking on the ground. I walked out on the tree that hangs over the lake to get some pics and i stepped down on the lake and next thing I knew I was bergin' but the chunks were small so I had to bail on to the lake. With the snow on top it was hard to see where the ice was good. Jens had no worries with the snow and went out to mow the lawn. Anyways, four boys inside things got kinda crazy on Sat. We had two of the nephews for about 16 hours and that meant 6 boys. So that meant laying on the floor and wrestling. Good fun. Did get out to play in the creek again that was running full on and another ride for just one hour, sand blasting the drivetrain on the gravel roads. All the time while Jonell was painting and re-decorating the bathroom. I said "how can you do that" and she threw it right back at me making reference to Friday. I Looks like some more snow and colder temps this week. Makes you want to go to Mexico.
