Another great day at MT Snow and US MTB Nats. STXC wasn't until 5;45 local time so lots of time to kill. After a huge b-fst in the am, watched the Tour and worked on the bikes, getting it ready for the day. Went up to the venue to catch the end of the sem-pro stxc where Phillips was 3rd, DePearsio was 4th, Ben Moore was 7th I believe and Jesrin Gaier was 21st. Tooled around in the expo area then watched the Womens Pro downhill . I got suited up and did a few laps of the stxc course before the Pro women. Before the Pro Women race I was ready to rip it up but we had a hour so I just soft pedaled back and fort and watched most of the race where Jenna and Kyia had very good races nailing top 15 finishes.

We stopped by the Giant tent to talk to Kelli and Adam Craig comes in and says "is that Jeff's bike". I said "yeah, I'm guarding it for him". Some good laughs. Adam is a cool dude.

Jake checking out the rally car. In the latest Mens Journal, they quote Pastrana saying he rolled it seven times on a mis directed turn.
Eric Thompson won the JR Expert stxc, pulling on the "stars and bars". Nicely done Eric.
The women's stxc was exciting to watch. There was group of 8 that was at the front the entire race, each taking turns. I thought Georgia Gould was going to take it but Mary McConnoloug doubled for the weekend, taking the win.

The start position on the STXC is everything so starting near the back wasn't ideal but i was going to get up as far as I could and use the one climb to my advantadge as much as possible. Problem is, 30-40 other guys are thinking the same thing. I did move my way up a bit and was feeling better, really good actuall, after 5-6 laps. I started to catch some more guys, and moved up into the 30s then I got pulled. There were about 10 guys that got pulled in front of me right at the same time and i was hoping we could do a few more laps but that was it. I came across 36th I think it was and lasted about 12-13 minutes. A super fun course, great course and was a fun day. Super hard, good workout and totally burns at the time but 10 minutes after you get down, you don't feel spent like the xc. Tomorrow we are going to meet Jenna Zander and Paul Hanson and some of the people they are traveling with and ride a lap of the xc course. Paul knows some trails that go all the way to the top so should be some fun riding
