A great Fourth of July at "the lake". The ride over was very nice and the tyres worked really nice, especially on the gravel. The few short sections of pavement they felt a bit draggy and grabby,
kind of like using grip tape on non-transformed snow on a sunny, 30 degree day in February. The rocky sections they were a bit rabbitish. Anyways, got to the lake and we decorated the sailboat with the John boat tucked underneath. This time with the 20horse on the back for extra speed in the transition zones. On the south end of the lake Jonell's dad comes by with the speed boat just for fun and picks up all the kids. We were kind of scratching our heads so Jonell, her brother and I just took our time and enjoyed a iced Heiny on the way back. Near the end Jonell's brother goes full throttle and it was something else. Some good laughs. I am sure it was a sight to see this sailboat ziping across the lake with no sail and decorated with flags.

Jonell rocking on the waterskis. Gets up on two but shortly drops and finishes out the run slalom. Not bad for a mom of four.I wimped out because I knew I would be feeling it the next day and was thinking about Kato. Made me think of the comment Jeff Roy said to me once "I love to ride but sometimes racing gets in the way" I was wishing I would of done a ride early this morning with the beautiful weather and check out some other trails after picking up a snowmobile map but I was planning on riding back anyways so I didn't .

Jonell finishing the run. No hands. I'm impressed.

The snowmobile map of the WESF etc. trails. I rode back since Jonell stayed with the kids and had some stuff to do at Maplelag. I rode some new trails, the Elbow and Tulaby Lake areas before making way back to Maplelag. The South Elbow lake trail cuts out all the pavement that runs from 113 to Rainbow with some fun rollers so that will be the preferred route now for the future.

We made a comment about the craziness of all the fireworks that are shot off during this week. Obviously most of it is on the Fourth but if people are going to complain about gas prices.....
