Trying to get a Christmas picture for our Christmas letter that has yet to go out this summer. A long day at the lake so hard to get everyone to smile but this is real. A nice day of relaxing after a busy week.
When we hit 12 noon on Saturday, the weeks activites had come to an end. Jack wrapped up the week with his involvement in the performance, Jack and the Beanstalk (Jack was one of the beans) after Jon had a game earlier in the morning. I brought the bike along so I rode home from DL in a roundabout way back home. When I got home, Jonell took the boys up to the lake cabin and I took care of some chores and made sure things were "cleaned up" after a pump went out on the lift station. I then rode a lap of the Citizen course before doing a fast lap on the Expert loop. After the fast lap, I filled up on water and rode the Resort ride route we did last year, up to the lake. Took just under two hours, thanks to a nice little tail wind and attacking all the hills. Later that evening we went up to the Naytauwash ballpark so the kids could play some ball. Jake and I rode there and when we got back, I had 90 miles in for the day.
Jake and I rode the Resort Ride route this morning, up to the halfway point and back. Jake bonked a little, I think, so he was eating everything in sight the rest of the day.
Seems like all we do is snack. Work, play, bike, snack. Repeat. I drank three cokes today. Thats like my monthly quota. I don't know. I was just really craving coca cola. Maybe something to do with logging 19 hours for the week. 13 of those with the mountain bike and off road. Doing big weeks in July beats trying to do hours like that in April in snow and rain. Did that plenty back then.
Some tired boys while eating supper at Pinehurst lodge. Mom is the best.
