Fun weekend with the Benson wedding. The Bensons are a family from West Hawk Lake Manitoba Canada that have visited Maplelag many times including five times the last year so we have become good friends with them. If you were here for the UCI and Laddies Loppet races the past three years, you probably met them. Their daughter got married to Mike Hood (who is seen below with now brother in law Chris to the right and some friends). Lots of bikers and folks from all over Canada. Good conversation with a lot of people including the folks that run the ski area at Falcon Lake (groomer chat and gave me the run down on the Swamp Monkey adventure race that Bill, Chris and Mike did last weekend. They were 2nd out of 42 teams from all over Canada) and Bill's partner from the Trans Rockies (they are doing the trans alp next year) who asked me about doing the South Africa Cape Epic stage race with him, which sounded really cool talking to him about it. That could be a lot of fun and I think I would do well at mtb stage racing and the time of year might be doable to take time off but would mean lots of winter riding. Anyways, some serious jumping. Chris and friends made a hip jump from some dirt piles I haven't spread out by the Great Northern and Northern Pacific cabins. Don't know if they will get moved now!! I was pretty tied up with setting things up for the weekend and cooking so I missed out on most of the big jump action but watched Jake and Chris stick it Sunday afternoon. Jens and Jon watched as well spending like three hours goofing around. They tried to talk Collin into doing a back flip but I said no. I have a bunch of video clips I'll post tomorrow.

Bill with daughter Jenna Friday afternoon. It was amazing how fast things dried up. I never heard the word "muddy". It as tacky or a little greasy. Lots of guests out biking which was cool.

Saturday morning I went out for a run and the sunrise was incredible. Finally the running is feeling good. My goal this fall is to do a 2 hour run. We used to have Norwegians work at Maplelag and I would run with them, doing long runs like that but now most everything is 40-50 minute lung burner.
Anyays, one of their friends was a chiropactor. Super nice guy. He "fixed" like 30 people. Here is is getting Bill lined out. I have never seen a chriropactor before. Didn't know much about it. He fixed Jonell and I. It as crazy. Five different spots my body made snap crackle pop sounds times 10. Jake was watching when he tweaked me. Kind of spooked out Jake hearing the sound and he opted out. Robert said he worked on is kids from birth until now. They havel lived their whole lives with no pain meds, cold meds anything like that. Bill said before he met Robert, he would come home from work and would have to lay on the floor to eat supper, his body was all messed up (he is a carpenter) after Robert, he said it saved his life. I think I will be seeing a chiropactor more often. 100 years ago it took folks 30 days to experience the stress folks today are exposed to in a day!!
