It was pretty much all hockey this weekend. Jon's team won the B division. Its pretty complicated to explain but they won their first game, lost the second and then won the last three to take the championship in their bracket. Jon had been in a bit of a scoring slump but broke out in game three with four goals and a goal in the next game. Jonell stayed up in Fargo all weekend and I was able to catch four of the games running back and forth so that was fun. Thanks to Steve and Ben coming over and catching the last game. Great tourney though. Teams from all over the country and very, very well run. Nice big tourney end of season atmosphere. Just a few pycho hockey parents but thats to be expected and great experience for all the kids. Here is the website if interested.

Each team comes with pins and the teams that play each other exchange pins. Then the kids have other pins they trade with other teams. Some kids have these huge portfolios. Good stuff.
It was fun trying to keep track of all the brackets and which teams were doing what and how the teams that Jon played were doing and also teams that Jon's team had played throughout the season.
All the driving back and forth I was admiring all the nice piles of snow and drifted snow. Steve should recognize this!! This would be a great location to build a kicker on the edge of the roof and then they have piled the snow nicely just off the roof for the landing.
With the big time wind events this month, there is some fantastic drifts off the prairie to the ditches. Towards the east, the drifts meet and completely fill the ditch. Its probably about 20 feet of snow. This would be a cool place to come when it crusts over to support skiers, build a kicker on the edge and try to clear the ditch. Might have to get a snowmobile and water ski rope for assistance.

One of the best ways to transport snow. When we lived in MT, I would get mesmerized by the rotary plows cleaning up the edges. Railroad tracks, hiway 2... all good stuff.
Skier this past weekend with a pair of excellent condition Bonnas. He is from Portland OR area and says he does more tele skiing but found these at a garage sale for 20 bucks. Put NNN BC bindings on and said they carve nice on 2-3 fresh on top of crust. The length was 215 which you just don't see anymore.
Tomorrow Lars and I are going to try and ski all the trails under 4 hours. The trails are in ideal condition for doing this fast and defined.
