Thursday we hooked up with Adrian again to ride north this time to San Pancho. Once we got to San Pancho, we rode towards Lo De Marcos. Jake was feeling it from the climbs after a hour so we went back the same way. Since most of the climbing is in the thick canopy.... the burning sneaks up on you. Anyways, some great riding and we both preferred this over the Monkey mountain ride. The vertical gain and lost was similar to Afton we thought, which I think is the toughest race on the circuit because of the smooth climbing and no real chance for recovery.
There was some incredible views from the coast line with some dicey singletrack early on.

On the outskirts of Sayulita.

Jake on the edge, looking south towards Sayulita.
Looking north towards San Pancho and quiet beach below. The singletrack that followed was crazy. Adrian was blasting through so fast we couldn't keep up and take any pictures.
Edge of the beach.

Under the gate. Adrian said he had permission so we went.
Long climbs, relatively smooth but some loose and rocky sections.
In San Pancho and the beach there. Very peaceful compared to Sayulita.
Climbing back from San Pancho. Adrian said the first time he did this ride was when he was 13 with his dad and two pros from Durango but he can't remember their names. He said Ned Overend was riding the San Pancho to Lo De Marcos route back and forth one year.
Adrian ripping it up heading back to Sayulita.
Five feet from the ledge of a cliff, dropping 75 feet to the ocean. Click here for the video clip.
Jake and I walked that section. Yikes!!
More walking to the edge.
Rock outcrop to beach and back on trail. Fun ride, thanks Adrian for showing us the trail.
