Last day of grooming this year. What a great year. The past 5 weeks have seen it all when grooming. Powder snow, windblown snow, packed powder, sugar snow, corn snow, frozen corn, frozen sugar, icy, wet corn, wet sugar, corn snow with a one inch crust with wet underneath, wet powder....what else. Learned some new things. Skiing this morning was incredible. Something about skiing this late into the year. Got real warm around noon but from 9am to 11am, it was perfect. Skied hard to make it count.
Froze hard enough so Jon and I got one last skate in before school. Melted out big time this afternoon.
Neighbor Ted out cutting wood this week.....bumped into him while skiing this week. Lots of neighbors cutting wood the past few weeks if their not collecting sap. Nice crust to walk on, pleasant temps, no bugs. Ted retired this spring. Its always fun talking to Ted because he likes being in the woods as much as I do. Big time deer hunter always scoping out deer trails and what not. Good guy.
Jens having fun on the ice and slush this morning.
