With very little snow loss Monday, I called up Lars and asked him if he would be up for a ski Tuesday morning and of course he was here. I did a better job grooming and skiing was incredible. We both were shaking our heads thinking the date of April 29th. The skiing could not be better. Wow, still can't get over it. Lars's family is moving to Durango for the summer and fall. Sold their house in rural Park Rapids. Lars is trying to get into a ski program but unfortunately $ is holding him back. CXC is asking 8k and Sun Valley is better at 3k. In Euroland they would pay athletes with potential to devote to skiing but in US it is lacking. JR programs are doing solid in MN and MSP area is incredible with all the JR options. Lars has one more year of JOs and will just focus on skiing, living the skiers life. Hoping for a solid year and then college.




Jonell was busy with housekeeping so I was on Jens patrol. We went out for a kayak ride on the little open water there is.
Getting some speed and riding up on the ice. It was good fun until we went up on the ice and stayed there. Things got wobbly but we came through fine. I think we are good on a May ice out date. Should freeze tonight and just have tomorrow to get through. Singeltrack along the shores. At 3pm, still 2-8" of snow cover.
Gravel roads have dried up nicely and driveway getting better. Jake and I rode Richwood loop and was nice to have Jake pull me up the hills 15mph faster than last time I rode.
Jonell can't keep up with the wet clothes. At least two pair of snow pants for each kid and Jens goes through about 4 pair of clothes on a day like today.
