Jonell's parents are going to Norway next week for a couple of weeks, Jon had his birthday Saturday and my mom is having hernia surgery this week so reason to have parents and some cousins over for a asado. Jonell's dad is always good for some stories and one liners. We always talk about hunting, guns, nature outdoor stuff....We were talking about the age lowering for deer hunting and the age of gun safety... anyways he said for gun safety when he was growing up involved the teacher telling the kids to bring their guns to school the next day. So they did, bringing them on the bus, putting them in the lockers and then after school they had a class then went shooting behind the school. No one got shot etc. it all worked out and was good. Times have changed.

Couple inches of rain last night not helping out the cause with the lake level and part of our dock still under water. Went to the Twin Lakes crossing ski trail and walked down the channel a ways and found a beaver dam so I took it apart to get the water running. Back in June where I am standing below, the water was just over my ankles. Beaver are amazing. Our neighbor watched one from a deer stand once go to town on a tree and he said it was incredible. I learned my lesson a few winters back when I was trapping them that the channels can change depth from inches to 6 feet in one step. Fell through the ice, was on something solid below, still dry then hit a channel that was over my head and the water filled up the waiters. It was a cold trip back.
Tonight Jon and I went back and sure enough the beaver were building it back up. We took it apart again and hopefully it will run for a while. Just want to get the lake level down a few inches.

Jon shot some video of the Kenwood boys with Jenna Z chasing when he and Benny Wenzel were on course. Notice not many hardtails. The only spot I feel I was at a disadvantage was on the new singletrack where I couldn't sit down otherwise the Moto Rapido worked like a charm. I thought the descending was easier then the descending out east but the climbing at Powder Monkey was more technically challenging than the climbing out east. All good.

Hey Jay, great racing this past weekend! I like the update on the beaver issues, reminded me of our conversation at Dos Gringo's about your dad's little side business, might need to hire him!
