Summer wrapping up quick. August always zips on by. Jack's birthday on Friday. Pizza party followed by some bump, putt and go.
Friend Edward coming through nicely with the soak in splash. Edward came from Russia a few years ago not able to speak a word of English. Just about perfect now.
I passed on boats. I have had my fill of two cycle exhaust this month running chainsaw and weedwhackers just about daily and last time I went on them, my stomach got a bit wheezy.
Not on the go carts though. Any chance to race Jake and Jon I will not pass. Jake got lucky and got in front, almost caught Jon. Jens couldn't drive but I am sure he could of. He went with me. Amazingly Jake, Jon and Jens handled mini-golf better than Jack and his friends. Fun times and great b-day party for Jack. Friday night we went north to the lake cabin since our weekends are numbered before school starts and things crank up big time at the lodge for the fall. Jonell's parent's still in Norway so mowed the lawn and checked things out.
Late arrival on Friday but near full moon and calm conditions made for ideal dog and smore bombing.

Saturday morning volley.
Jake and I did some 5-15 min intervals Saturday afternoon in White Earth State Forest, hitting Norris trail, Strawberry Mountain rd, Mckenzie Lake trail, and Waptus Lake rd before turning around and coming back same way. From cabin to high point east, we climbed 500ft from 1400 to 1900ft, rolling up and down to high point. Ride back we took full advantage of the elevation loss. Always nice riding and the east/west running trails are the most fun. Great terrain for Cheq training and super fun riding with tandem. There is some incredible singletrack potential. Esp around Strawberry mountain. We did a loop on Sunday and tried to ride to the top but too steep and technical with rocks and loose stuff.
McKenzie lake.

Saturday afternoon cousins came over. Cranked out some South twin fish tacos with some walleye, of course. Looked at some pics from Sayulita fish tacos and I missed the pico de gallo but had everything else right with shredded cabbage, and island dressing. Pacificos would of been nice but in Naytahwash the selection is limited. We managed. Uncle TJ ready to dig in.
They brought the jet ski over for some water skiing. Jon got up on one.
Yeah, I had some issues. Got up on one but not only losing shorts I forgot to take my glasses off so I tried to fix both and kaboom, I was drinking lake water.
Jonell still showing us how it is done and probably has the best form of us all.
Sunday before Jake and I rode, Jon and I did a loop around south Twin on the tandem. I was hurting big time from the skiing but was all good.
The question isn't whether Jens is ready for Kindergarten, its if Kindergarten is ready for him.
We dragged our feet going home, pretty typical, but easier to put kids to bed when they are sleeping and what not. Couldn't ask for better weekend.

LOL. Nice idea. Saw the slip and die in TP backyard. Crazy. I think Pastrana is racing in the forest rally in White Earth this weekend. We saw signs for it when we were riding last weekend.
