An exciting week for the boys.

Looks like Jake will be riding for Team Devo next year, the National Jr Development mtb team headed up by John Kemp. Jake talked to him before the stxc at US Nats, rode a awesome race beating top JR riders three years older than him including a JR that raced at worlds, a Devo rider and top ranking cx riders, making a statement. Sent a resume off this Fall and John called last week. JHK, Adam Craig and World JR CX Champion Matt Kelly from WI all products of Devo.

Dicing it up at MT Snow stxc. and passing Cody Cox.

Jon's team picked captains last night and he will be wearing the big C. Jon was excited and eager for the challenge being a leader. Games cranking up this weekend with Wadena Fri night, trip up to West Fargo on Sat and then Fargo Raiders at home on Sunday. Highlights are playing Moorhead on Dec. 19th, tourney at Bemidji, tourney at the Ralph in Grand Forks and of course the big highlight of the year, big Squirt Tourney in Fargo end of Feb. Hope they get to play Edina or Roseau. I have been skating with the team, whenever I can, helping out and shooting pucks on the goalies. Speaking of Roseau, the bantam A's make a trip end of January playing Warroad and Roseau in the same day then finishing the trip up north with a game with Baudette. About as good as it gets. One of the players on BA is local. Never played organized hockey, tried out for Bantams and made the A team. Prety neat. Hard worker.

Jack started bb this week and continues to knock the pins like crazy in bowling. Jens wrestling everyone at home so we have the winter sports covered. Oh, Nord xc starting this week as well for Jake.

Island Lake froze over Sunday night, the lake we were on recent camping trip. Ever since I was a kid, I always was lured to the ice, enjoying the thrill of walking on fresh ice. Skating on the wide open lake with no snow is a rush and seems like only a few days possible to do that. Came down from the stand this afternoon, went to the edge of the bullrushes than figured wasn't very smart since I was alone and went home. I really wanted to walk out to the middle.
