The table is all set, cooking the turkeys tomorrow and ready for family and friends for Thanksgiving day. We gained a few kids this year putting us at 21 and about 20 or so adults. Glad the lake is frozen over nicely so we can have some skate time. We have plenty of room so if you don't have any plans, come up, come down, come over and we will set a place for you. Spend the night if you want, on the house. Bring your skates.

Thankful for health, family, friends, where I live and thankful for a cat that is starting to turn into what I think a cat should be. Even has been cleaning our windows nicely. (crank up the volume and you can hear Jon playing the Star Spangled Banner. He is planning on playing before the bike race next year) The cat will go on these 4 day excursions where we don't see it during that time....my hope is he is thinning the mouse population...and I think he is...because we have had only one mouse complaint this fall.

Jonell said I missed blogging about the real drama last post. To keep the story short, basically we had the four kids plus three friends on Saturday. It was great. Playing outside, good conversation during snack time, playing at the lodge doing capture the flag thing but thats when things got kinda bad. Carter (below right) got gashed on the forehead and we had to take him to the ER and get ten stitches. Haven't seen Carter since Jonell took him in but Jon called him the other night and Jonell stopped by there last night and he was doing good. He could practice hockey so that was the most important thing to clear. Good kids. Hate seeing that stuff happen but..it happens!
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Jay-

Your blog remains my favorite because your family lives such an active, engaged life. And also because you're so humble. Thanks for sharing.

I want to bring my family and come stay at your resort sometime. Maybe this spring.

Happy thanksgiving.

I would love to bring the speedskates out on that ice. A couple years ago we had ice like that here for a couple weeks at least. The strong northwest tailwinds were a blast. I won't be able to do the Turkey day ride tomorrow because I have a cold and its in the lungs. Bad time to catch a bug. Have a good Thanksgiving.
