Jonell and I are down in PVR Mexico for the week. Awesome to have this week alone , thanks to my Mom. We weren't sure if we would be able to go with Jonell's dad in the hospital the past six weeks but now he is home and hopefully on a continued road to recovery and somewhat normal life. A lot of unknowns but he has been a trooper. A nice break for us before cranking things up big time for the winter.

Always perfect sunsets in Puerto Vallarta. Once again staying at the Hotel Rosita. A simple hotel, one of the original ones in PV. Half the price what I paid in WY. We know probably half the staff having stayed here many times in the past and super nice people. Always smiling and quick to laugh at our choppy Spanish. Family owned and completely opposite of the all inclusive thing.

Found a small coffe shop a few years back. Old time espresso machine but does the job very nice. Lady doesn't speak a drop of English. It all works and my Spanish slowly is improving. Should be a lot better. I should get tapes.
This part of the beach reminded us of Sayulita. We thought about going up there for the day but opted to just stay around here. Compared to other years and compared to the spring, the city is pretty dead. Not many tourists which is nice.
Jonell getting good price on vanilla. We use 100% pure vanilla in the chocolate chip cookies, brownies and Russian Cremes served at Maplelag. Expensive stuff but the brings out the flavor. It is hard to get in the states and price is about 1/4 of the cost. "We ship to United States if you need more" Jonell said we couldn't make it a business trip if we did that.

Casting a net out to the sea. The Mexican people are great.

Brought the bike along. Once again I scored a free pass for the bike. We were one of the last ones to check in leaving out of Fargo and they were swamped. The lady didn't even look up to see I had a bike box. Put in one the belt and off it went.

The SB8's are working great so far. No flats, knocking on wood. Last spring up in Sayulita, not so good with all the thorns. The rivers are running nicely and really peaceful riding up into the jungle with no wind, and birds chirping away. No snakes this time. Geckos and a few lizards. Most of the rides pretty short and sweet and interesting to have the Garmin along. Planning a longer ride tomorrow morning farther up the madre.

They had a good rainly season so the jungle is lush and full of flowers and what not. Sometimes you swallow bugs and what not and wonder if you will get sick but, again, knock on wood, so far so good.
Going aero heading home from school for siesta.

Rolling back through the outskirts of town, one way traffic. The hombre driving the truck full of Senoras and Senors, wasn't ready to back up for the bus. So while they decided who was going to back up, I split the gap. You have to use your ears as eyes and be ready all the time, for sure.
