With snow cover still pretty thin on the trails, the decision was made to groom on the lake. Not seeing any snowmobile tracks on area lakes, I started getting edgy, thinking about going out there. I knew the ice was at least 10" think where I was going so I knew it was plenty thick and the ice is really, really good ice. Jonell said "what are you waiting for, go out there"

I took the roller down but left it on the edge. Then went hell bent for election, basically standing on the back so if by chance I dropped through, I would do my best superman and hopefully land on something solid. Got to the other side and saw two fisherpeople. Stopped, saw what they were pulling and figured it was all good and shot the breeze with them. "F#%$, there is almost 12" of ice in spots, you gonna be fine".

Nicely done Paul Bunyan.

Two of our foreign staff came on Sunday. Lauro and Juliano. Both from Brazil. Of course the coldest day of the year is on their arrival day. First day they spent the whole day outside and same today. They were hauling wood to the cabins today and Juliano was driving. He just decided to drive. I told him make sure when you want to brake, you don't press on ze gaz.
So awesome to see Jonell smiling. She brought home a bug from Mexico and yesterday she got floored. For Jonell to be laying in bed the middle of the day, you know she is down for the count. I got Jonell a new pair of skate skis this year and hopefully we can get out soon.
