Once again, the month of March not disappointing as the top month of the year. Historically we can count on at least 20 days of skiing, locally. We will make that this year as today is in the teens and tomorrow and Saturday mornings should be good yet. After that, everything else is bonus play. The roads start to dry up and the wheels get moving on and off road and playoff hockey in full force with state tourney and WCHA Final Five topping the list. Things are starting to wind down for the season at the resort with one low key event this weekend then down time for a month or so. Even so, plenty of active action. This week has to be a highlight week so far.

Out on the road first time this year in 50 degree temps, cresting "Soo Pass". Huge climb. Doesn't make sense but to me the sun glaring off the snow makes it feel warmer than if no snow.

Rapid warm up has water flowing. Eventually this will make it to the Red, unfortunately.
The folks who have this cabin are in for a nice surprise with a beautiful snow drift right on the driveway. Either they are in Fargo dealing with other large drifts or in Florida, drifting.

Past few mornings freezing hard making for some fun riding on the ski trails. Working on the bike handling, trying to stay in the tracks.
Dirt jump track peeling off its winter coat. The jumps built last fall should of settled nicely.
Nothing like March sun. 45 degrees keeps the salads fresh and crispy.

We all went to watch Jack bowl on Tuesday. Jack scored another patch for the 128 game.

Open lanes so Jonell, Jens, Jon my Mom and I bowled a game or two. Since Jonell is a league bowler she has a fancy ball with her name on it, sporting the Jerry Garcia look. Wasn't enough to hold off King Candlepin who rolled a 153. Maplelag sponsors a bowling team and currently they are in first place. If you count Jonell and my Mom, five kitchen staff are on the team. Tonight they try to defend. Always some good bowling drama to report Friday morning.
Went to a Fargo Force game Tuesday night. A rare moment of stillness above. A beautiful facility but very noisy atmosphere. Architectual brilliance but not sure about the slanted ceiling and accoustics. The Force looked awesome. Very solid playing team. Kid from AZ on the team that is 16 and the ringer of the night, Toranto, 20 and probably playing NHL some day. Win that night clinched playoff spot for inaugural year.
Jonell's number finally called for grooming shift. A good morning to give it a whirl. I was leading the way and didn't see her coming for a while. So I walked back and see the front end popping up and down. Teeth too far down, making it hard to make the turn and pulling the sled back to much. Otherwise did a very nice job, no blown belts so all good and the skiing afterwards was some of the best. spring. skiing. ever.

My engineering instructor Tim Grebner was up at your place earlier this season for some skiing. The first thing he mentioned was how good the grooming was. Looking forward to be hitting the dirt soon.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, ready for some trail riding. Probably will be another 4-5 weeks though around here.
