Lots of 29ers. Lots.
Seems like everyone is riding a Specialized. The big S team of course, the new Sho Air team, and the U23 team. Seemed like 3-4 years ago everyone was on a Trek. Now TREK doesn't sponsor a National team and runs full size ads saying to check out their new bikes at World Cups. Germany this weekend anyone?
Was thinking about the size of the Pro xc field on Sunday and how clean the start and transition was. Everyone acts in a Professional manner. I talked to some riders who raced in the 35-39 CAT 1 age class and reported a rider pretty upset yelling at other riders. Lots crashing and nervous riding. Might be more competetive to race in this class but I worked hard to work my way up 13 years ago to the Pro level and as long as I am not bagging the last spot, there is some good competetion among us pack fill. Plus the level of professionalism was high with riders sharing bottles and riders passing to say "hop on" etc. Good stuff. Look forward to US Nationals in CO>
