Can't ever remember the start of August being like it has. Cool temps, light bug action and pretty much perfect for being in the woods. Daily tweaks to the mnscs course and also working on the new singletrack. I rode a lap tonight after we blew out all the singletrack this afternoon and it was pretty much perfect. We will blow out the singletrack Thurs or Fri before race weekend. I don't know what else we can do to fine tune other than cut out a few roots maybe here and there and a bit of trimming. Every year more roots pop up and if it is damp/high dew points, those tend to give folks problems since there isn't much root action on other courses. Last night Jake, Lars and I did a hot lap and Jake rolled across first right around 32 minutes. (be sure to check out the Maplelag bike trail reports if you haven't done so already for the latest)

Jens ripping around like usual.

Riding on the new singletrack to the west. Not part of the race course. Future point to point.

We fine tuned the dirt jump track this week as well. Closed up a gap jump, fixed the southern berm and built up some other jumps. Next week hope to build a small pump track for the smaller kids and Jack will help build that.

Jake and Lars are always pushing it to the edge. Freaks me out sometimes.

Tomorrow, Jake, Jonell and I are flying out to MT. Snow. It was much cheaper to buy a third ticket than bring my bike so I am not bringing my bike and not racing and bringing Jonell. Yeah!!! Should be awesome. Jonell cashing in on some nephew watching tokens so the other kids are covered and Jonell totally deserves a trip. Jake races at 8am Saturday morning than after his race we will bust to the Atlantic. The reason why we are racing at MT Snow is the Devo manager said it was the most important race for Jrs on the year as it is a qualifier for worlds since it is most similar to the Worlds course. Jake is too young to make the worlds team but a measuring stick so to speak to see how he stacks up on that type of course against other JRS. Good experience nontheless and probably our favorite National course so the riding will be sweet. Hoping to crank out a few laps on Friday and getting pumped for candlepin bowling Friday night!!
