We have had some great "best of March" days so far. Light lasting late, long shadows and intense sunshine. Cooler than normal temps keeping the snow dry and fast, so far. Totally expecting to ski into April.
A action packed week with a low key grooming clinic with area groomers, Jack's fellow fifth grade classes (100 kids total) coming out for the day from Roosevelt, farming conference Thurs-Sunday, wellness retreat on weekend and Lotvola Cup on Sunday capping of a busy busy weekend. Lee Disse above set to head out for a groom. Lee has helped me out this year and has done a fantastic job. Grooms 15-25 hours a week which has saved me ton of time and weather has been awesome requiring pretty much daily grooming with 64km to keep on top of.
The usual suspects showing up for Lotvola Cup. About as good as it gets for racing, weather wise. Quite a change from the years of 50 degrees and slush. (skoyles photo)
Kris (click on Kris for new sauna review site and here for waxing tips) and Kyia Anderson coming up to help out with women's retreat. Kyia always super positive and a "bundle of sunshine" the fellow retreat leaders say. The Richards family extremely excited about the news passed along.
DL Nord coach Dan Josephson showing pics of his gruesome frost bite from the Birkie. His hands all bandaged up now and lucky not to lose fingers. Looks Mount Everest expedition like. Nikki doing a great job leading Minnesota Youth Ski League in DL.
Jonell down in cities with Jake for Junior Olympics. Marci and Kriston Wenzel helping out with registration, doing fantastic job of course. Thanks much.
Had a bowl and was pretty good. Some interesting workshops with farming conference for sure.

Jonell and the boys outside of Wirth. Like I said after JO's in January, fantastic venue for Natz and conditions about as good as they can be for this time of year.

Jack was a flag bearer for opening ceremonies. Wearing lid nicely. (Horsager photo)

Jake was 40th in the sprint qualifier. Missing moving on by 3 seconds. Super tight racing with high level of competition and good experience for the future. Pumped for Wed and Friday racing. (skinnyski photo)

Jens skiing kids race at Lotvola with Carlos in front. Carlos snuck out of the house before the races started and sure enough caught up with the leaders and just shook my head when he came flying down the trail leading Lars and Wynn with Steve chasing. Having skied with Lars in many sketchy situations and Wynn, I wasn't worried about anything happening. Expected the unexpected at Maplelag.
