Last weekend we had the first wedding of the Spring/Summer. The first of three in a row for this Spring. We can only do wedding weekends for certain weekends out of the year with Concordia Language camps running most of June, July and August. When we do wedding weekends, we handle everything from all the food/catering, lodging, set up, clean up, planning etc. Jonell does an amazing, incredible job with the planning and with close to 80 weddings the last 11 years, the experience comes in handy along with a great staff. Pretty much have to plan a 48 hour shift to keep the wheels moving proper. One reason why I have no interest in 24 hour/enduro mtb events.

LinkFriday morning in town by 530 to send Jack off to the cities for a field trip to the zoo, fort Snelling, Science Museum, and one other stop in Minneapolis. Jack said it was a fun trip with neat stops but the best part was the bus ride! The northern kids are always going south for field trips and I wonder why city kids don't go north for field trips. I know Itasca and some other spots get hit but there is lot to see here they don't teach in school. Ha!

Jonell really enjoys planning the weddings and the couples are always great to work with. It is pretty much a year round process, planning and meeting with the brides pretty much once a week the entire year with weddings booked up to three years out. Jonell goes the distance for sure and was off to the cities today to hand select the flowers for this coming weekend at a warehouse that supplies Maplelag during the year and get some ideas from some folks there. It is crazy what people are charging for wedding services and Jonell has learned how to save everyone money by doing it herself.
Jon was in the cities for a hockey tourney with his CanAm team and Jake at the MNMBS bike race with Jess. Jens back home waving the flag and helping out in the dish room. He punched in just like everyone else every time he came to help out. Every kid should wash dishes for a summer camp in my opinion.
Jake and Jess stopped by to catch Jon's Saturday afternoon game. Meant alot to Jon and his parents. The Mehnert family from Moorhead had Jon for three nights and big thank you to them for taking him down and bringing him back.

When I went outside Sunday morning, I knew Jake had fun, like he said, with his bike plastered in mud. No, not good for bike parts but bike came through pretty good. Less moving parts with a hardtail. Solid result with top 10 finish at 8th place after dangling at the front in top 5, going out Bjorn Dailie style the first few laps. Form starting to come around and gearing up for WORS cup and US Natz with top priority races.

You would think with all the good times going on in the dance room, it would be someone else other than my mom having to go to the ER at 2am in the morning. Heading down from the lodge,....to make a story short....she hit her head and put a big gash on her forehead that required a stitching of the muscle before doing the skin. Jonell took her in and back at 430 to catch a couple hours of sleep before finishing out the weekend.
Not good form to put photo of someone laying in hospital bed like that so better shot of my mom cruising the crust in March. Doing fine this week and pretty darn lucky.
