Last week Jonell decorated the lodge for Christmas. Driving home from a hockey game the Sunday before, she formulated a plan in her mind and last week did an amazing job covering a large area getting ready for the coming guests. She was definitely on a mission and like most projects, likes to do them solo and does the work of five. Unfortunately we have had to cancel two weekends now because of lack of snow. We were fortunate to have that snow mid November but overall, it has been one of the driest falls on record. Just a few patches remain throughout the trail system that has been enough for Jake and I to get some desperate skiing in.
Data on probability of white Christmas

Jon had his first tourney of the season in Bemidji last weekend. The team went 2-2 with the last two games wins. There were a lot of kids Jon has played with in the summer there with different teams including a cdn team from Fort and it was fun catching up with those parents. Sunday night when we were all home, we were out on the lake for some dusk to moonlight hockey.

Patches of snow on Twin lakes. Jake skied 1.5hrs going up and down the start. I managed an hour the other day. It is desperate skiing for sure but better than not skiing and have to keep winter running through the veins. Suicide and the sections on the back side are a bit more tolerable and fun in a different sense.
Pushing snow to the middle to make for better classic skiing on the lake which opened up two ice skate lanes that Jon has challenged me to a race. Full moon, clear night, its on.

I love Jonell decorating. She's a decoration of Maplelag too!
