Today was errand day in DL and Fargo. Good timing as it rained most of the day and not much too do outside other then finish the block which Ralf and Bob did. Had to stop at Dakota foods. It was a zoo. "Does this stainless steel ice scoop come in any other sizes ?" someone said. I always like to check out any new utensil gadgets on the shelves that are supposed to make "cooking" easier. I had to pick up some black rubber mats and they stunk. It seemed like I was inside a tire. Doing the rest of the errands and on the way home. Fargo is a cool town really. Just big enough to have everything supply wise and some funky restaurants in downtown area. Good political landscape (as John Munger would say) and friendly folks all around. Not too big that you have the craziness like the Twin Cities. I don't know how people put up with the traffic there.
Tonight was also cross night at MBJ in MHD. It was perfect. Some light rain, 50 degrees and greasy mud..not gunky sticky. Haven't had that much fun on the bike since Sandilands MB, CAN. I was alone after the group split apart after a few laps and missed a corner, locked it up and started sliding all over the place. I ended up flying off my bike into the woods. It kept getting crazier. Next little dropped I did the funny car slide and slid right around the corner. Mario attacked and put the hurt on everyone. I am starting to feel some form come back and in a few weeks maybe there will be some more. Lucky to get 4-5 hours a week in now so just all high intensity basically. Just all fun this time of year.
The kids have been so full of stories lately that I could write a book. They are all different in their own way. Hope to take them out duck hunting this weekend. I have seen more ducks this year then I can ever remember, save the first years growing up. Saturday Jonell and I will be at Paramount Sports in Fargo spreading the word about Maplelag and hopefully get some new folks interested in xc skiing. If you are in the area, stop on by and say hello. A cool new store with all kinds of outdoor gear.
