Cranking out the K's.

Third time skiing in as many days. Rode on Sunday, two days off then on the skis. Can not complain. Been getting out for a hour or so after kids are in bed and everything else is done so reason why for not posting as of late. Not sure how long this early run of skiing will last as it is warm and some drizzle coming down but still early in the year. Wed. night was moonlight ski and single digit temps and slow gliding, last night was like mid Feb and tonight felt like March. Hope to take the kids out tomorrow. They didn't have school today so were sledding and skating on the new rink which needs a flood job but has some ice from the rain we had before the snow. The weather has been so up and down the past 10 days but that is to be expected this time of year as Mother Nature gets positioned for winter. As long as my skis are gliding I am a happy man. Skiers, especially the hard core racer type, are very particular about snow conditions. Doug Edgerton is always good to talk to about dealing with all of that. If everyone was like Dave and Josie Nelson and the rest of the skinnyski skiers , it would all be good.

Last night we had three conferences and Jakes band concert. So we were at the middle school for almost 4 hours. Jake is doing great (straight A's) and Jon and Jack not far behind. I have a lot of respect for teachers these days. Just a zoo at the school. We sure miss the ol' Callaway school.

Wed. I took Jonell to Fargo and she got her braces off after almost 2 years!!! She has to wear a retainer for 3 months and that is it. She had jaw surgery back in June and everything seems to be setting up okay. The ortho that she sees has quite the palace. Video games, flat screens, internet, juice and water coolers, lots of windows and big open spaces. He even has his own snowplow for the parking lot.

Man, just has been a busy week. The building projects are going full steam plus everything else. This weekend is quiet at the lodge which will be a nice break before Thanksgiving. We will have both sides of the family at the lodge plus some extended family. I am in charge of gravy among other things and two years ago there wasn't enough. Not cool. So last year I made tons and it was fine but everyone remembers two years ago so I have to make pretty much double batch. I think there are about 40 with the kids so better make it for 80. I'll pull out from my bag of cooking tricks to make it happen. Posted by Picasa
