White Earth Connections. The other day this officer buried himself along our driveway. I had to pull him out. Last time I was face to face with a WETPO was when Zigs, Dan Schupp and I were riding in the rez and we got pulled over because we weren't riding single file.

Last night Jonell and I went to New Horizons on White Earth Lake with her parents. A nice remodeled old time feel lodge. We bumped into someone who teaches on the rez. 3rd and 4th graders. He said 70% of the time he diciplines and the other 40% teaches. Lot of respect for that guy and all teachers in general. One summer i worked right next to NH but never went down there. I was a Japanese cook at one of the Lanugage Camps if you can believe that. White Earth lake is a beautiful lake and the camp was on this high bank. Very nice. My dad went to scout camp there back in the 50's.

This morning I woke up early to go for a ski. It was -23. The moon was out in full force and the sun was getting ready to come up as well. Beautiful skiing. Cold but I was dressed right and it was fine. The kids thought I looked funny, all frosted up, before I took them out to school.

Blog comments: I wonder why JHK would run a direct water line to his espresso machine? Fast Freddy says its best to used distilled water. Maybe he has purified water lines in his house already. I saw what TJW wrote about intensity early in the year. I agree with that. I just don't know if I agree with the big jump in yearly hours for some of these riders. It works the first year or two but after that, they seem to be toast. Great article in the Wall Street on Carl Swenson and make slow progression in yearly hours. I tried to pull it off to link but couldn't find it.

Tomorrow Jon's class is supposed to come out and ski and sled. I will talk to the teacher to see what she thinks about the weather. I don't mind the cold and if the kids just do short skis and what not it will be fine but they were going be here the whole day. Some good times for sure.
Enjoy the cold!! Posted by Picasa

hmm ~ 70% & 40%. That must mean those studends are getting a real education during that 10% overlap!

I went out and purchased some classic skis.I probably won't use them untill next year but everything is on clearence.I got Fisher combi race boots,Rossignol max skis, and solomon classic race bindings.Total came to $350.I thought it was a good deal.Skiing is so much cheaper than cycling.

Cool beans on the classic boards. You should come up here again in the next few weeks and test them out. It would be fun to rip out a 4 hour classic ski. I have to say that skiing and cyling is the same for me. Between skis, boots, poles for skate, classic and tele, it gets up there. Can't even use the same pole length really. Jib photos tomorrow. Jake and a kid built a nice kicker today. Should set up tonight and be primo tomorrow.
