Jack and my Dad made it home safely after a good trip to Sask. Canada. Just one accident today...they went to a farm near Russell, Sask. and my dad was picking up some old depot signs like the ones upstairs in the lodge. The farm dog came over to the pickup and Jack was a bit afraid so he climbed up the side but he fell off and broke his arm. Second time around for Jack. Poor guy. He always seems to get the bad luck out of the kids. Not many snow geese this year. They did well on the blacks, specs, and ducks. Jack was a trooper getting up at 3am and they were in the blind until 11am or so. The first time up there just blows you away. The sky will be loaded with birds in the evenings or mornings as they come off the lakes to go feed. They seem to go on forever. At night you go to bed and you go almost crazy as you hear the sounds of geese going through your head. We stay at a farmhouse b and b where the women has this huge garden and does these gigantic breakfasts/brunches. Some good times and stories up there. Photos are from 03, the last time I was there. I always thought it would be fun to go up there in the spring and ride and eat those big breakfast. The strawberies and home made yoghurt are great. Tons of roads and trails and just a old settlement/back in time feel. Yesterday I had a 30 minute opening so I took the road bike out on the ski trails for the heck of it, going ahap. Even went on some singeltrack. It was pretty nuts. I think if I ran some bigger tyres I could cyclocross with it. With that narrow and smooth in the back I was still able to climb Suicide. Huge wedding this weekend. Biggest one ever. Everything is set so it should go just fine. Duck opener on Sat. Maybe mon?
