Today, for sure, ranks as one of the best ski days of the season. Yes, the "snow" was better 7-10 days ago but the surface on North Loup was right there.....I could of skied all day. I race paced one lap on North Loup and the high end is there. Bummer there isn't a race next weekend because I could probably do it. Twin Ports changed dates. Anyways, Thanks to Jonell who covered for me in the lodge so I could get out for 1.5hrs. My parents left to Mexico on Wed so Jonell and I are finishing out the season. To have fresh snow, (yes it was a bit icylike underneath on other trails, but not bad, really), the March sunshine and 22 degrees at ski time was sweet. Plus, the crust cruising was incredible. We are lucky to have a week, at best, of crust cruising in the Midwest so I really savor the days. Out west you could count on a month, especially if you went in the high country. Zigs is back for a few days so hopefull I can connect with him for a ski tomorrow. Recognize the spot in the 2nd pic? Thats the long section of singletrack from the top of Suicide down toward Bullhead. It was a bit nuts. On one of the turns I thrashed my foot agaisn't the tree. Jibskates would of been better. Hopefully Monday.

Well, the posters and flyers for the UCI race and other mountain bike events at Maplelag this year went off to press today. I'll have bunch extra at Hollywoods if you want to pick one up.
