Although Jon didn't race the Kids Comp race at Maplelag, he has been riding the loop almost every day, trying to best the fast time on that day. He is pretty much there. I have ridden with him a few times and so has Jake. He also has been making some hard laps at the track as well, catching a little air. So, first hockey tourney is this weekend. Although his team hasn't been skating (they don't put ice in until mid October) he should be in great shape. Since Jonell and I are here at Cheq. we will miss the games so that is a bummer but he his hanging with the family of one of his hockey buds. The other two boys are down in the cities for the PKD walk. We rode the first two miles than cut over and rode the last 5. All systems go. We rolled in last night which was nice to have a chill day after being crazy the past two weeks. Chilly for sure. I think I saw a few flakes of snow. Its all good. At the start I noticed all the flagging was strung together by rods of rebar.I never noticed before but I guess after you have to cut zip ties and take down all your fencing, cut 2" plastic water pipe into pieces to cover the rebar and then zip tie everything, you notice things like that more. All the metal fence posts at the start and finish chutes? Good thing Cheq. isn't UCI. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend.
