Jonell and I finally got out for a ride since Cheq. I wasn't planning on riding this week but that lasted until Monday where I went for a lap on the Loppet course, little wet expecting to slip and slide but the Karmas connected nicely. It is just two beautiful in the woods right now with the leaves at their peak or a few days after and leaves on the trail so it would be crazy not to ride or do something. It was wet but not muddy. The gravel road was spitting up sand so we just did laps on different ski trails. Sun cracked out near the end and was gorgeous.
After the bike race weekend, the jumps were buffed Pro. We have been tweaking the jumps here and there and Sunday I added a few buckets to the last jump and you just get launched. Don't ask me though. The Benson wedding is coming up soon. Should be a fun weekend with some crazy air. Scott didn't make it last time so we'll see what he can throw down.
Dang kid. Stop scaring me.
Monday afternoon with no school, I took Jon golfing. I haven't been on a golf course in probably 15 years. Jon took some lessons this summer and has been golfing with Debbie the cook now and then and some other people. I was the caddy and let Jon do his thing. After he teed off on the first hole, it started to rain. Rained the entire time. We only lasted six holes and called it a day. The guy working in the clubhouse said we were nuts. He said this weather is driving him crazy, going to Florida on Wed. Doesn't know why he stayed the month of September this year. The weather was terrible. I said it didn't rain Labor day weekend, its been colder then normal, beautiful colors, no bugs. September is one of the best months of the year, just right behind February or March. He had no comment.
Speaking of weather, I see Too Tall Tom got axed. Tom was just getting going in Fargo when I went to school. I liked Tom. Would watch him and he made me laugh. Haven't watched the news now in maybe 10 years but he was always excited if snow was in the forecast, a snow lover himself. Probably drove most people nuts. This time of year the general news people start brainwashing the listeners. Fargo radio stations are brutal. Thinking cold weather is bad and snow is threatening. Or 32 degrees, should melt some snow. Drives me crazy.
I have been reading the articles about Genevieve Jeanson's admission to doping. Doping at 16 thats crazy and scary. I tell Jake I rather see him finish dead last then to ever mess with that crap. Jonell and I keep on top of the communication with the older boys on the junk they might be faced with at school and what not. It's pretty scary what some kid Jake's age and even Jon's age are messing around with.
Full moon tonight. Super bright. Seems like a person should be doing something outside. Too bad there wasn't snow and I would go out skiing. Maybe next month!!
