5:45am wake up and a 40 min ripper with Jake on the tandem. We are working on our starts. We did the stxc loop a bunch of times after a tt loop and just flew up that steep climb. IT was nuts, really dark in the woods, could hardly see and kinda slippery but no issues. Resort then had me running up to Fargo. Crazy how many errands I got done in two hours. Dakota foods for dishware etc., health food store for grain specialties, clock store, tool crib for pressure washer parts, and sound store for more mics and cables and B and N of course for NY times which was sold out. But first stop to Paramount to have Club D rub some magic on the race machines and pick up the Croll which he converted to a single. Looking at a 44 x16. Some big time mashing. Jake took a loop with Jon on tt loop after school and said it was tough "hardest thing I have done" I said it will b good strength training. Not the ticket for the singletrack. I'll take it for a whirl tomorrow, if time, and see. Just need to get up the hills in CC on Sunday, if not, it will be fun trying. Basically will be a commuter. Have to get the Mexican Panaracerlike smoke off the rear that weighs probably two pounds. Had to buy that in Mexico a few years back when I blew out a sidewall on the revolt super x and that was all they had in the shop. Good training tire I guess and pretty much bombproof for flats.
I wasn't aware that Fargo banned bikes on sidewalks. Hadn't seen this sign which I thought was cool. Tom Smith and boys doing a nice job advocating for the two wheels.
Worlds continues. Fred D doing a nice job covering. Interesting to read about the Swiss JR program. The Swisspower cup sounds cool. Especially for JRS. They got it figure out over there. How many times do you hear "it was good learning experience, now I know what it takes to race at that level" Problem is, for US to compete "at that level" the exposure to racing needs to happen earlier. Thoughts of having a MN Jr team to race more Nationals and head over to Europe to race the PowerCup. MN has 5-6 kids right now that are ripping ........ Nicely done Paul.
