With a little bit of rain last night and 100% humidity today, conditions were just right to finally drag the road and smooth out the washboard and potholes. I think in a five mile radius there are probably 10 different types of "drags" in the neighborhood. Every spring, when the frost starts going out, folks are dragging their road. Maybe next spring I can do a photo gallery of all the different types of drags.
Jonell picked up this flower pot holder thing yesterday. I like the holders. Might need that if we did the 40, could store a bunch of water bottles.
Lars came over after school and Jake, he and I rode a few laps. We were hoping for bit more slimy conditions just in case St. Cloud is greased up again but the cold front pushed through mid afternoon and the moisture started to lift. Great time of year to be riding in the woods. Our colors have just exploded the past few days. I was trying to get the color and the rider at the same time but just couldn't nail it. Lars pulled a sweet move on the rock garden section above. His rear wheel started to slide on a slippery rock but he pulled it out. It was nice. I was going to take a picture at the top to show were racers were going around the rocks and then put a bunch of colored lines but I don't know how to do that.
We took turns at the front, drilling it pretty good. As Jake would say, "it was tight". After we did a expert loop in about 35 minutes, we rode a tt loop in team tt mode. Lars and I got a small gap on Jake off the start and I pulled Lars around then put a small gap on him at the end and Jake came 30 seconds later. I think today is probably the last time I will pull Lars up Suicide. Hopefully in 2 months time he is putting the scews to me on Suicide on the Nord boards. Of course, I will have no skiing base but like cycling, I like to jump right into it.
