Looking at the forecast last night, I thought I would of been lucky and had some snow flying when I took the docks out today but no such luck. Now that October is in the books and we slide into November, if it isn't going to snow, it might as well be sunny.
Our friends from Essex, MT who are still working at Izaak Walton Inn, stopped by today to spend the night. Rich is the head chef and has been the last 15 years I think so we worked with him when we worked out there for the three years. Rich and I did some nice climbs in Glacier Park when we could. Rich is a top notch photographer and he would always want to be at the top of a 9,000 foot peak before sunrise so that meant leaving 3 or 4am in the morning but it was always worth it if the light was right. Good to catch up what is happening in Essex. Mark is the only other employee who was there when we were, still working . He took my job, ski guiding folks in Glacier in the backcountry. Mark spends his summers surfing in California after learning in Mexico a couple of summers. Nice. Rich was in Nepal this summer and did some sweet climbing, topping at 19 I think he said.
Ten years since we were there. They look the same except they have three boys now and four for us growing up way too fast.
Lars came over after school and we rode on our 3 mile loop we have all buffed out. Super fun riding. Can't remember riding this much so late into October. Riding behind Jake and Lars is a riot. The legs feel great it was just like watching a video. Short clip below.
How we made it through this Halloween without trick or treating, I don't know. Winona won't believe it. I saw her the other day in the grocery store and she was disappointed I said we only do 5-6 stops but these stops the kids just get loaded. She was asking the best streets in town but I couldn't help her out. She was all fired up. Good laughs.
