Happy New Year!! Wow, where did the week go. Went by so fast. Always does. Yesterday sure got the most from the day. Up at 4am to groom until almost 9am. Make the rounds, ski lessons until lunch, few lessons after lunch. Fry up walleye for 190 for supper. After supper started to get a bit sleepy so went and groomed for a few hours then good times ringing in the new Year with the kids and staff and to bed at 2am. Think I'm ready to do a 24 hour mtb race....solo.

Been out with the kids a few times when I can. Jens has helped with some lessons. Like most of the Midwest, weather and conditions has been perfect. Today an adjustment with the cold temps and wind but once in the woods and moving, its just fine.

Haven't seen Zigs much this break. He has been busy with family and only out skiing a few times He is out at US Nationals. He was 80th today which is a great result considering the field. Lars was in the 200's. I'll talk to both of them tomorrow. Kuzzy had a great race, John Bauer still not done in 8th and Joe Dubay around 100!! Pretty impressive for a high school Jr.
Been stoking the barrel stove the past two weeks. I don't think the fire has gone out during that time. The rocks hold heat nicely and the double barrel provides some nice heat action. Looked like someone touched the top barrel which wasn't a good move. Least they had their glove on.
