Its not cold....its winter!!
Thursday was easy grooming in the mid teens but with wind forecasted I didn't do so much so that left Friday grooming at 6 hours. 12 below -30 windchill....tracks set up instantly. Classic is the only way to go in this winterlike weather.
-30 lowest recording on the weekend. Considering full moon, clear nights, should be -40. Same situation tonight but don't see much colder than -25. Even with the cool nights, I still cut the heat at night for optimal sleeping conditions. Plenty cool in the morning. Interesting they cancel Pepsi because of the cold yet the Packers/Giants game goes on. Five hours standing in the stadium?!?! No arm warmers on some of those lineman? Had to sting.
Jake and I skated on Saturday but was tough going. Good workout anyways. 4 hours of classic, and 8 times up Suicide tonight over the MLK block. With no meets because of the "weather" a good time to stack some k's . Finally got the carbonlites waxed and tuned. They are runners for sure.
Inside where its warm....Jens helping with fry bread and Jonell cranking out some donuts for fun. Grandma Norma would be proud.
Had the old sauna fired up over the weekend and took three days to rid the frost underneath the slab. Cranked it up last night to 215!! Nothing like wood fired heat, getting all steamed up and walking on to the lake and staring at the moon.

John Thompson told me an old Norwegian saying," There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing". Thaw this weekend.Crazy roller coaster weather pattern.
