This afternoon Jonell, Jens and I went to Spidahls for Jake's meet. Just a top notch day to watch a ski race. Great atmosphere with high energy kids all over the place. Jake had a good race, fun with the fast hills and happy with the results. As I mention in the report, it really reminds me of the area we lived in Norway. The drive east from 59 to there is just fantastic. Some really nice size hills. Great road riding around there. Lived and worked in Dent "I got bent in Dent" one summer and was some great riding. Jake came home with us and we stopped at a nice deli in Pelican Rapids next to the Pelican River. Wish they had something like that in DL. Two for two free shots or something like that of espresso so between Jonell and I.....they cranked out like 6 shots for the beverages. Yeehaw!

Anders Spidahl doing the one pole. He dropped his pole at the start on the first climb. He worked his way back up to 6th I think. Very impressive on a hilly course like that with tricky kick waxing. I wish I would of been running the vid when he finished, he had the craziest form. Super nice kid. After the race I skied most of the course with him. He gave me the run down and showed me where he and his brother built some crazy kickers on this huge hill.

Nicely done. Yesterday snuck over to Rainbow to check things out. Was nice skiing all by myself. Course is looking good. Was thinking about it and I don't think I ventured out once last year. No ski races, no day trips etc. This time last year, was spending a lot of time on the UCI race. A great experience putting that on but nice to have that weight off the shoulders to be honest with you.
