Lots of staring at the snow the past week it seems. With these crazy arctic blasts the past four weeks, having crisp and clean tracks on 64k has been challenging.

Blade action today. Every day was blade day living in MT making sure the berms didn't get out of control. If you want to see the ultimate blade work, head to the Rendezvous system in April where Doug Edgerton has routinely pulled snow from the side during the season and when the snow melts you see ground on the side but the base is holding strong measured in feet. I stumbled on some interesting
Pisten Bully clips. Quite a few actually.
Gap jump built finally at Mt Maplelag. What follows scares me. Pictures I am sure to come.

After 110km of grooming, managed to sneak away for
Finnlandia and 25km Bemidjithon. Warming up I knew I didn't have the snap like I did at COLL but managed to hang on to group of 7 skiers and we skied most of the race together. It was a lot of fun, like road racing I guess, taking pulls at the front, drafting etc. Lars did most of the pulling. Rogers did as well. Rogers has owned the Bemidjithon skiing probably 20 times and winning a bunch of times. Wenner was hanging in the back most of the time saying the f word to Connor who had some seriously fast skis and was running over everyone. Thats pack racing, get in or get out. Race was between Wenner and Rogers for the Miniskinny series. Told Lars afterwards he should of let them dictate the race but didn't matter, I knew Lars was the strongest on the day and as soon as we hit the hills the last 5km, he started drilling it and we popped off.

Sam O in the 50k waving the flag along with Steve W, Summer and Lars taking the wins....it was a good day.

Jon has been pretty swamped with hockey so not much ski time for him but he has been getting out. Big Fargo tourney this weekend. Up to six games on the weekend. I think thats how many times Jake raced after the new year. Crazy.

I knew you guys were going catch me!Lars looked like he was'nt even trying!.I had some what slow skis that day.Made that last 10k feel like 20k.Had fun though.Good job,to all of you guys.Hopefully keep up with you next year.No more races for me,planned that is,this year.Going to do it again next year for sure.Saving the Birkie for next year.Going to take a break,do some "easy" skiing with Eric.As long as there's snow I'm skiing. When the temps warm up & roads clear off, then the bikes come out.
Be Blessed!
Bemidji was a great day! I did not even consider racing until the last minute. I am glad that I did. My goal was to "just hang on" and not get passed by the 25K Freestyle guys.....Lars pulled in less then a minute after I did - wheew.
Sam O, you and Eric should consider racing the Lotvolla Cup. Always a good one.
Cheers!
Jay, the trails look epic!!! Might be time to visit in the 70's knicker kit, and get my hands on one of those fancy new hats!
