Last weekend of ski racing? Probably so since Rainbow canceled their Pole Pedal Pant. Jake was planning on doing the bike leg with fellow DL ski team members and I was going to try and sneak away and do it solo. Thoughts of riding this week probably now on hold with January like weather on tap.

Jake did 10k skate at Rainbow on Saturday, enjoying the perfect conditions.
Snowy start to the Lotvola Cup. Lars lined up behind Joe Dubay which was wise as the fresh snow made the tracks slow. Lars had a great race with Joe with Dubay just catching Lars at the line. Video clip on skinnyski. Leif Ronnader in shorts. Bemidji people are tough as nails.
My mom Mary heading towards Twin Lakes.
Jake coming back from Twin Lakes. Had a solid start but lost a few spots towards the end. Broke classic poles last week so using skate poles and threw off his technique. Under the weather, did quite fine considering. Monday he was sick again and home from school.
Steve coming back from Twin Lakes having a great race. Bjorn with the roll of duct tape ready for taping action.

Bruce rounding the corner. Thanks again to Bruce for hosting all the coverage so we can remember the day because the way I felt, I don't remember much. Struchy below of GPCC.

Friday morning grooming in the north wind lasted about four hours as stuff was getting blown over. Waited til the wind settled down and what not and finished around midnight Friday. Wind picked up again Saturday afternoon so plans to groom late Saturday put on hold. Same time got hit with a nasty bug thats been going around. Tried to keep low but was thinking about the grooming ahead to much. Slept an hour at a time and finally got out at 3am to groom the course. The last hour was brutal but got done and thing were looking good. Rest of the day was in the hurt bucket and Sunday afternoon I was down for the count....

...with the champion spit player by my side protecting me from harm. It's not easy being a spit player. Takes lots of concentration and the right tools required, like a broken clothes pin.

I think this will be our last weekend of skiing.Temps are suppose to be 30's & 40 next week.Might do one more race on Sat.Slush Rush.Short 10k & close to home,or do the COLL trail one last time. Then Eric maybe Chris & I are going to hit up the river bottoms for probably the last trail ride until they melt & dry out. Then it's back to the road riding.Bummer they cancelled the Pole Pedal Pant, sounded like it would be fun.Maybe next year. What are your plans for rest of season?.Get well soon & Be blessed!
