I don't know how many times I caught myself thinking about what we were going through a week ago today. Today was about as good as it gets for a spring day with the sun shining and lower 50's for daytime and wind laying down completely at night. No bugs!!Ice went off the lake today so that was exciting.

Last ski of the year. First time skiing in May at Maplelag on "real" snow. It wasn't pretty at times but made a complete loop and was skiing. By the early evening, the snow was just about toast. Friday early afternoon, in town with Jonell for errands and had hour or so window. Snuck out to the mountain area for some hill work in steady rain, wind and 38 degrees. Been little under the weather so thought either I would come through okay or really go under. Felt great, think I turned the corner on this upper resp gunk stuff, knock on wood. One thing about the mountain, its all sand basically so usually a off road option if weather turns. Sram hollow pin continues to crank away. Put it on one week before MT Snow and 8 or so races and fall/winter/spring riding later, no worries.

Wind continued through the night, no more rain and sun in full force today. Had about a hour window today so checked out the loop used for the UCI race last year and completely rideable except maybe one small section and a few ski trail sections a bit soft, need to ride way to the side. Felt good to ride with just shorts finally and get some sun on the legs. Hopefully later next week can blow out some stuff and get the mower on the ski trails. Still couldn't believe riding when two days ago, skiing. One thing about that snow, it was heavy, packed the ground, melted underneath, melted slow so I guess it all adds up for quick riding after complete burn off.
Ice of the lake and Waldo putting in the canoe.
Big PEO state convention going on rest of this weekend and on through Tuesday. Don't plan on any riding until maybe Tuesday night unless before sunrise. Plenty of exercise moving chairs, table and benches most of the day. Jonell has been pulling out all stops and doing an incredible job working with 35 different people and 7 different committees and keeping on top of wedding planning for two weddings this month and the staffing. And keeping clothes clean for five males that like to play in the dirt. Prom this weekend so extra challenge working around that. She is amazing. I could never do what she does.

I cannot believe the snow melted so quickly! Thanks for the pics and the updates. It's not often I get to feel sorry for somebody for lack of nice weather...
