I would have to say this weekend was our peak of Fall color. What a incredible weekend.
Bruce came up on Thursday with some new computers and go over some web stuff on the new Maplelag website that we will unleash in a few weeks. Pretty stoked about that. Bruce is amazing in that he can be doing something and be thinking about five other things at the same time, looking ahead and meshing it all together so it works nicely.

Went out for a run on the Pumpkin Run course. Since St. Cloud I have done nothing as far as exercise. Nothing on the bike. Next week, Jonell and I are going to start running and start riding again.

Bruce got out for some fishing early Friday morning, catching a few bass in Bullhead bay.
Scrapbooking retreat on the weekend. Organizers extremely organized and high energy. Inspiring.
Ski trails exploding with color. Click on the photo for full effect.
Jack doing the upgrade on the axe. Still working on that ironwood. Any spare time I had this weekend was spent working on the new singletrack.

Jonell cranking out another Norwegian wedding cake, Kransekake. She has done enough now could do them blindfolded. Which was handy when Jens got involved.
Shrinky dink action. Never done shrinky dinks before. Cool stuff man. Jonell said she did them all the time growing up. When my parents first moved here, we didn't have a shower in the house so we did the sauna thing almost daily. In the Fall when the lake was nice and cool like it is now....

After oven action. Amazing stuff I tell ya. The little beetle is mine.
Jake keeping the pulaski moving. Most of Sunday afternoon, doing some serious pulaski.
Checking out the work. This afternoon a guy came to photo the old sauna. He is working with a guy writing a book about saunas in the world. Guess they spent a month in Finland, shooting all these saunas and getting historical information etc. The past four years they have been traveling the upper Midwest, checking out saunas. Said he has never seen a sauna with a stained glass window like we have here in the old one at Maplelag. It is 32 years old I think. We fired it up so he could get some smoke coming out the sauna. Time to go get cooked and take a swim.....

Jay-I'm not sure if we ever shared this with you but we have a book that we got as a gift in 2000, "Some Like it Hot" The Sauna, It's Lore and Stories by Nicolyn Rajala. Maplelag is featured on pg.136. It's titled 'Suit or No Suit'!!
