Great weather for the Pumpkin Run weekend. My sister brother in law Dan, and their four boys came down on Thursday night, the same time Jonell, Jens and Jack got home from Disneyworld. Jonell said they had a good time but glad to be home. She said the area definitely focuses on kids and was too much, iho. Five of the eight boys did the run.

Marco out in front with Krieger. Marco ran a smart race and took the win in the 8k. We we were all very proud. The turnout was about the same as other years. More in the 4k this year and not as many in the 8. Big race up in Fargo that probably took a few runners away but we don't promote the race too much so it is all good. Marco 14, 8th grade and running Varsity for final race of the year. Sections this Thursday. Slight chance his I Falls team could make it to state.

Jake and Jon running together. Jon started out a bit faster, like usual, until Jake caught up. Jon ran steady for solid finish. Jake did 8k and just missed 40 minutes which was his goal on the up and down terrain. Probably the 4th time he has ran this Fall. He blew out the singletrack for the run on Friday and did the section from Suicide back to the lakeside and said "after you blow it out, makes you want to ride so bad" So we did, sneaking in a ride Friday afternoon. Riding back and forth on the blown out section and was perfect.

Nephew Joey. Was not too far behind Jon. Natural runner.
Jackson. Doing it in the crocs.
Peter riding in support of Jack. I never asked him if he rode the singletrack drop to the Bulhead lake.
Kragerud family waving the flag nicely. Daughter is 4 years old and did the 4k.
Great afternoon for some Griffith/Richards football. Over the weekend they actually played for quite a few hours which hasn't happened in years past. As they all get older, things seem to work out better. BTW,Marco, I saw you moon yer cousins.
After the run, I fired up the old sauna and later in the afternoon after football, I took all 8 boys to get cooked. After everyone was at the point they couldn't take it anymore, I jumped in first and was standing in the water, waiting for all of them to come out and get lined up. As I was sitting there, I was wondering if Jake said something like "lets wait a few minutes". It was plenty cool and thought my stones were going to turn to sand. Anyways, first time out didn't work as Joey pushed in Jack and Peter and everyone else jumped in except Jake and Marco. Go back in, get steamed up again and then was able to get everyone lined up, after Jens jumped in extending my time in the water. Good memories for sure. Boys are growing up fast. Can't believe we ended up with 8 boys between my sister and I. If we have drama now, just wait til they all have girlfriends and go on a camping trip together or something. Oh my gosh.
