One of the coolest things I saw at Nationals at Mt Snow was when I was sitting on the side of the course after my pedal issue, kind of in a daze about what happened, and about 15-20 min later, Adam Craig starts the climb of the second, main lap, and at the same time, Carl Decker was finishing up a lap. They passed each other on the only point of the course where it was side to side, so to speak. They did the high five like the photo below. It would of been a very cool picture. I think only three other people were around and none of them a photographer. I could be wrong, but did not see any photos out there during that split second moment.

The trophies by the way are this years overall winners in the Chequemegon short and fat (Jake of course) and the 40 for Jonathon Page.

Duck hunting opened up last weekend. For one, the wind was way wrong for the spot we hunt, two, I haven't seen hardly any ducks, three, I didn't have the time and four, the season for the White Earth First Nation people opens three weeks before and that pretty much takes care of all the local ducks, imo. I guess some locals did pretty good a few outings, they surround a pond area, sneak up and open up when birds start flying. Mainly teal and woodies. Personally the most fun and best days are if you can catch the northern birds riding down with a Alberta, snow a flying, ice forming to the decoys and birds buzzing all over the place....the flocks with their wings cupped sound like fighter jets. Pretty much awesome. Duck hunting opener used to be huge. Groves of folks coming up from the cities. Tons of birds. Probably the best memory was hunting before school started in high school. Super thick fog in between Little and Big Detroit Lake on the little island there and ducks flying super low, in front of your face and no time to react. Good laughs. The lake shore residents didn't like that, we weren't really sure if it was legal or not, and now I think there is a city ordinace no duck hunting.
