For the first time this year I was the first one to carve some turns in the fresh powder on Suicide Hill. Tomorrow it gets groomed up. Since the days of Essex, not much pure tele skiing but burning the turns on the skate skis is just as fun.

The last time Jonell and I skate skied was when we lived in Essex, MT. I think I remember 3 days of good skate skiing. With 425" of snowfall that year, the skate deck would be good for about 30 minutes after the morning groom then it would start snowing again.
We finally got out the first time this year for a little bit on her new gear. The skis look like they are 225cm or something. Inch of fresh snow falling today and temps in the upper teens. Great winter day. Look forward to the next six weeks, the best part of the winter, imo.
Jonell did awesome. A natural.
I think this is also the first time of the New Year we have been on the ice skating rink. Just has been pretty darn cold. Guess Jon has been out, but for me. Jens having fun in the fresh snow.
Richards to Richards.
Watching Jens I see a lot of Jon.

That first photo of Jonell does look funny.Looks like there way to big for her.Always like to see your tele. skills in action.Going to be doing the sprints for the first time in the COLL.Should be interesting with Nikoli & Swank in there.I know I'll get spanked but will be fun with the big venue & people cheering on.Then the loppet on Sun.Going to be fun.Wish you could have made it down, but I know how much you love to groom.
Good luck Sam. Way to wet the feet in the sprints. Rip it up Sunday. Would be cool to race but far from race form and having fun with the kids.
