Nice little end of March storm. 11" for a 24 hour total. Looking at the 12 and 24 surface models, looks like 2-4 additional by this time tomorrow. Loop groomed up nice tonight and should be some awesome skiing in the morning.

Yesterday Jens was home from school because of Kindergarten roundup. He was so entertaining I didn't get out riding until later afternoon, right when the snow and temp was starting to fall. Two and a half hours in driving wind and snow. Most of the riding on ski trails and snowmobile trails that were frozen solid with ice base and 2" fresh on top... like riding in mud I guess so it was plenty fun. Should of had better gloves on because it took 45 min to thaw out.

Sunday took Jon to Grand Rapids for a 2 hour practice with the Lake Superior Stars, a Triple A team based out of Duluth. When Jon was at the UMD camp last summer, Coach Sandelin watched him a couple of the games and told the coach of the Stars about Jon. The roster is full from the repeats last year but the coach was nice enough to let Jon practice. Not all the kids were there so it was a lot of ice team. Few kids from the Minnesota selects making it a face paced practice which Jon wasn't used to. Jon held his own though and was a good experience and he said he had lots of fun. There was a kid from Duluth East that has to be one of the better if not best 97ers I have seen this year. Amazing the skill level at that age. Jon will be playing with the new AAA team out of Bemidji, the Fighting Loons and also play two tourneys with the Ice Hogs out of Moorhead for summer hockey.
Never been to the Grand Rapids rink before. Beautiful rink. Old time facility but new additions blending nicely. Like most other rinks I have been to, photos of PRO players and bios of all grads that have played college. I am going to start a project, if they will let me, at the DL rink and do something like this.

Snuck away for 45 min to check out MT Itasca. Always fun to leave your mark in someone else's back yard.
Yesterday there must of been close to a 1000 birds at our two feeders. I put feed on the railing and they were lined up nicely. There were birds below, in the trees. Tweet Tweet.

School called today so full bore shinny tourney. Checking allowed. Keeping it fair and honest with goal highlights from both Jake and Jon. Jens and Jack scored of course. Rule was after each goal, switch goalies. Played four games and Jack and Jake were ahead before it was called in the evening. School is two hours late tomorrow. Wonder if they will play in the morning....most likely.

Hows the new bike? looks pretty nice.
The wood floor takes a beating eh.
Jens looks like he is the hardest on it.
We woke up to white trees this morning. The lake is 50-75% open after yesterdays rain.Should be all gone by friday. Not much biking this year for us. On the crappy days its running, strength, plyo's and/or dryland excersises. I'm going to try and keep some of these workouts going throughout the summer and see what happens.
Happy trails.

Jay, we have talked about doing the player photos thing at the rink for awhile now, just haven't quite gotten the thing rolling. Let me know if you need any help, I have contact with a few of them.

ERIC: Bike is rolling nicely so far. Ready to hit the trails and test it for real. Put all the stuff from the Salsa on it except the fork. Really like that Fox fork. Jens is a piece of work. He is not afraid to stand up to any of his older brothers. Sounds good on the training. Looking forward to a O Bro sandwich.

Tony: Be great to work with you on that. Too bad Ralph Anderson isn't around. Dale will be helpful for sure.
